AHH… where to begin? This is the subject of about a Bizzilion books and even more posts….there are so many areas to focus on daily. With out a system in place one will fall behind in some crucial area at some point….. and this is natural to a certain extent. You start making some $ and business is on fire…and then you get out of shape and feel disconnected. Your hitting the gym everyday getting toned up for summer now your broke… Or, you’re relationship is great but your fat and broke… You are meditating everyday and you feel that higher sense of connection to things… but now your fat broke and alone….It can get confusing at times.

If you have a new business, have a child, are just getting out of a relationship…etc… Your life will be out of balance. To some degree this is healthy. No one created anything great by living a perfectly balanced life…. Talk to anyone who has a perfect body… they had to make sacrifices to get there… Same with a business…. The greats like Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan or anyone else for that matter at the top of their game will live life massively out of balance for a period of time. Their social lives are usually amongst the first things to be sacrificed.

So often in life we jump from one area to the next before mastering any.

I’ve been guilty of this myself…as a committed developmental learner and student of life .. i’ve found 8 areas to be the most sought after. These being health and fitness, Financial, Relationship ( this including everything from rapport, to dating, to sex, to loving relationships etc), Spirituality (Purpose and Meaning), Emotional health, Career, Fun( including leisure, sport travel etc), and lastly Time Management.

Which one of these areas is the most important and should come first??? This can be debated by a 1000 people with a 100 different answers and reasons for each.

The following is just my opinion… and the way I coach. Hope it helps you… if not … throw it out of your mind.

Ideally– the most important in my opinion is your sense of meaning, or what Napoleon Hill called “ your Definite Purpose in Life. However, most people have a hard time answering questions related to meaning.. and there are some common reasons why for for most its a target that is always moving and hard to hit form day to day.

Not how it should be ..but the best study of life is how it is… now how we wish it was or think it is.

I always start with the body, and for many reasons…. First of all its the place you live, the place that houses all of who you are on planet earth. An unkept home says much about you… but an unkept body… much more.. What you put in your body, says a lot about your sense of discipline , self worth, self love etc. Also of the 8 areas listed above this is the most relatable, and the most tangible yielding nearly immediate results. Work your butt of for a week in your career and you will often see no immediate benefit…sometimes after a year. But if you eat like crap and don’t work out for a week.. you will feel an almost immediate shift in your mood, creativity, energy, confidence, emotional state, appearance etc
Further more…referring to the people that inspire us the most… the athletes and performers… they all place a significant amount of attention on their body to remain at peak performance.
What gets measured gets improved. This is why the majority of my coaching clients have always emailed me daily what they eat. If you don’t have someone to keep you accountable for this …start doing it for yourself.

Lastly, as you are able to see changes in your body…you energy, your fitness level and your appearance… you gain a new found confidence in your ability to handle challenges in other areas of your life. The small consistent daily decisions you make in a positive way literally begin to reshape not only your body—–but your mind. I believe ..this strengthens a subconscious belief in you that is this..<<<You have the power to change things.>>>> Every bite, Every drink, Every minute of deep Rest, Relaxation, Meditation or focused Intensity will bering about progress in your life. As we build in this 1 very important area we are reminded and strengthened in our belief that we have the power to change in other areas as well.

Nothing, and no part of your life is with out movement. Forward or backward, Up of down…Growing or ….. I hope this message has moved you forward with increased awareness.

So where do we begin??? Well we gotta start some where. I say start with your body… what you see in the mirror every day, the confidence gained, the renewed sense of energy and discipline will act a as a template to expand who you are in other ares of your life as well.
